The winter blood drive is scheduled for January 21st.
Our next mock ACT is scheduled for January 14th. We will test 11th grade students only in this session. Our juniors will have a great opportunity to apply test-taking strategies and work towards improving their previous mock ACT scores--all in preparation for the official test given in March.

Congratulations to Michael Bradley and Anthony Gaulzetti for winning the SESC Regional DHH spelling competition held in Richmond, KY. Michael won 1st place and Anthony took 2nd place. Both SWHS students will be competing in the state competition in the spring .
Winter is upon us and we are ramping up for the weather. This year we are using a new call system called SendIt. It should work like our previous call system, but when the snow and Ice starts forming, if you don’t get a call, text, or email, please call our office and we will get you on the list.
I also want to take this opportunity to brag on our schools. Using the new STAR rating system from state assessment, our schools ranged from 3 to 5 stars. Pulaski County High and Southwestern High were both rated 4-stars and both with 98% graduation rates. We are also very proud to announce that Southern Elementary was rated a 5-star school. We have great learning opportunities in our schools, with our district as a whole ranked in the top 25% of the state.
The child nutrition and WIC reauthorization act of 2004 requires that districts that participate in the national school lunch program develop a local wellness plan for the schools in the district. Through Board approval the following plan and Report is adopted for the 2019-2020 school year. Personnel will be available on January 30, 2020 at 5:00 PM in the Board of Education meeting room for any public comment.
Please click on the title above to access additional information regarding the Wellness Plan.
Pulaski County Schools will, again, use iLearnPulaski Days to allow learning to happen at home when school has been cancelled. iLearn Days will be announced through phone calls and all other media outlets. All students should bring home information and assignments over the next few weeks. The Kentucky Department of Education will approve each iLearn Day only if a high percentage of our students complete and submit assignments. Without KDE’s approval, an iLearn Day will have to be made up at the end of the school year, so please complete and submit all assignments.
Keep in mind that not all snow days will be iLearn Days. You can find more information about iLearn Days under the Student Link on www.pulaski.net
Southwestern High School will strive to graduate every student college/career ready and prepared for the 21st century.
