If you are a teenager (14 – 19 yrs old), we want to hear why your school ROCKS! We've asked students what they would like to change about their high school and how they would change it. Youth Activity Fund Student Grants

The Explorers Club offers grants to students conducting individual scientific or exploration research projects through their respective schools with a supervising instructor. Your instructor must write a letter of support. We do not provide general scholarships for tuition.

 

Youth Activity Fund for high school students and college undergraduates, fosters a new generation of explorers dedicated to the advancement of scientific knowledge of the world. Our awards typically range from $500-1500 US for both funds. A few awards may be granted up to a $5000 award level.

 

Exploration Fund, for graduate, post-graduate, doctorate and early career post-doctoral students, provides grants in support of exploration and field research for those who are just beginning their research careers. Our awards typically range from $500-1500 US for both funds. A few awards may be granted up to a $5000 award level.

 

Incomplete applications or those made to the wrong program will be automatically disqualified without notification or comment. Please read the application directions carefully

 

Free Speech Essay Contest

High school juniors and seniors for the 2012-2013 school year are eligible to participate in FIRE's essay contest. To enter, students must submit an essay between 800 and 1,000 words on the provided topic.

 

One $10,000 first prize, one $5,000 second prize, and three $1,000 runner-up prizes will be awarded for the best essays. Four $500 winners will be chosen from the remaining entrants in a drawing

Carrington Dental Centre Scholarship--$500 (Deadline: Dec 15, 12)

To be eligible for the Carrington Dental Centre Scholarship a student must:

 

1) Be between the ages of 16-22

 

2) Answer the Essay Question on the sponsors website prior to the December 15, 2012 Deadline

 

3) Have a parent/guardian submit the recommendation letter prior to the December 15, 2012 Deadline

 

4) Be a Resident of United States or Canada

 

5) Be enrolled in a college, university, trades, or technical school by no later than the Fall of 2013

 

RMHC U.S. Scholarships-$1,000.

One hundred Awards (Deadline: Dec 20, 12) To apply for an RMHC scholarship, a student must:

 

1. Be a high school senior

 

2. Be younger than 21 years old

 

3. Be eligible to attend a two- or four-year college or university with a full course of study

 

4. Be a legal U.S. resident

 

5. Live in a participating RMHC Chapter’s geographic area

 

6. Submit a complete application and all required documentation by the deadline on the application

 

7. Meet any additional eligibility requirements outlined by each scholarship program

 

8. Verification of enrollment each year at the student’s accredited post-secondary institution

Kentucky Farm Bureau Scholarship

Will award 87 county and state college scholarships to high school seniors pursuing a four-year course of study.

ELIGIBILITY

·have either a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) or a minimum 23 ACT score

·be the child of a Kentucky Farm Bureau member and remain such, while the scholarship is in force

·finish high school within the year they apply for the scholarship

·for the Leadership in Agriculture Scholarship, applicant’s parents must be actively engaged in production agriculture

Note: Children of Kentucky Farm Bureau, Claims Personnel, State Board Members, State & District Employees and State Women’s Advisory Committee Members are ineligible to apply. Children of Agency Secretaries, CSRs, Agents and Agency Managers are eligible to apply for the Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance Agents Association scholarship and should utilize the application below.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Applications must be postmarked by February 28, 2013.
